How To Monetize Your Stream

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make money with your content. If you want to make this a business you will need to make money. How you go about is where you can make mistakes. Putting all your eggs in the Twitch basket isn’t a great move so let’s talk about ways to monetize and when to start.

1. Choose the audience you want to reach.
2. What value can bring to that audience, what problems can your brand solve for that audience?
3. Give away all of your best content, hold nothing back. Create content that will add the most value. You need to be the cream that rises to the top.
4. What are you an expert in? To be an expert you only need to be one step ahead of someone.
5. Double down on your greatest strengths. Are you funny? Bring jokes. Are you incredible at a certain game? Teach us to get there, share your journey. Can you code, sing, or paint? The possibilities are endless.
6. Put this high-value content everywhere and start getting your name out there. Be in your comments interact, ask questions.

Becoming a trusted resource for your audience is the best way to have them want to support you and what you’re doing. Always put them first.

After adding value and building trust begin to monetize

1. What products have you used to get where you are? Review those products and include affiliate links. Only recommend products you believe in and use yourself. The trust of your audience is more valuable in the long run.
2. Once you are able to monetize your Youtube channel take advantage of running ads.
3. Set up a Patreon. Head over to the site and look at brands similar to yours and how they are using the platform.  Offer exclusive high-value content. Let’s say you use a podcast or a video as your exclusive content give away the first 5 minutes on Patreon for free so they get a taste of what you’re offering. Use the sites blogging feature to add free high-value content and share it on your socials. Drive traffic to where they can support you if they want to. 4. Look for sponsors of products you use. Audible was one of my first sponsors because I love the service and it’s a great product for the podcast crowd.
5. Create your own product. My book is available on Amazon as a physical book, a Kindle book, and on Audible. Are you wondering what to write your book about? Take all the high-value content you have been sharing and combine it all in one place. Add some extra tips or ideas and you have yourself a book. Become a trusted resource people will support you and what you’re doing. Just sitting and gaming on Twitch won’t cut it with so many people in the game. You need to set yourself apart.
