New Nintendo Switch Model To Release As Early As Next Summer

Time to go pro?

Wall Street Journal Japan is reporting a new Switch model will be out as early as mid-2019. One option being discussed for the updated system will be a better display but existing software should work with the new model. As of writing this all we have a is few tweets with even fewer details.

I’ve thought all along that we would see a new tablet with a better processor, higher resolution screen, more storage, but all hardware and software would continue to work. With this new model possibly launching just two and half years later shows Nintendo is all about being aggressive with moving new consoles. The current model of Switch falls a little short in areas like frame rate and resolution so improvements would be welcomed in my mind. Will this new model have a higher price point? Xbox and PlayStation both have their budget and pro console separated by about $100 will the Switch Pro be the same? I think we may see a price increase or Nintendo really wants to move consoles we see the current model get a price drop and the pro fill the $299 spot.

I want to hear from you. What do you think of a Switch Pro on the horizon?

  1. I would be all for it. My current console would now be the kids’ exclusive.

I don’t care about what the improvements are as long as whatever is needed to play non-gimped games is there.
