Nintendo Bans Hacked Switches

Nintendo is banning hacked Switches and according to one user the ban will not be lifted. Nintendo Bans Hacked Switches

Switches that are banned are receiving error code 2124-4007. This ban will not allow you to access the eshop, play games online, or create Nintendo accounts. Any funds left on your account will not be accessible.

With Nintendo banning consoles that are being hacked it’s apparent that they are taking this very seriously. What do you think about these bans? Are you surprised by it? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Not surprised at all. These kind of hacks are against the TOS and no other platform would allow that to happen either. When you ddcide to “customize” your console this way you accept that Nintendo will stop supporting you.
Can you imagine someone with a hacked Xbox trying to connect to Live?

  2. You’re just playing with fire, and these thing can affect other players too. Beyond piracy and Mario Kart or Splatoon 2 hacking, does anyone remember when innocent players were getting banned in Dark Souls (3 I think?) because a hacker would invade their game and drop a hacked item, and then when the player picked it up they were flagged by the system for having hacked stuff.

To this day I’m terrified of going online with Pokemon Sun because I know I have hacked pokemon that I got through Wonder Trade, and I have too many cool pokemon to start that game over and replay it. Shiny level 1 Mews with perfect EVs don’t come from trees.
