Nintendo Switch Online Plan

Nintendo announced today some of the details with their upcoming Nintendo Switch online.  Pricing, features, and NES games with online capability were a handful of the details they shared.

Pricing

The three price plans one month, 3 months and 12-month pricing we’ve been aware of for awhile, but family membership was introduced today. With the $34.99 option, you’ll receive 12 months of service for up to 8 different accounts, on 8 different systems. Here’s what Wario64 on Twitter had to say about this;

This is excellent news for households with more than one console.

Features

The feature that everyone has been clamoring for the most is finally here; cloud saves.

NES Games With Online play

Twenty NES games will launch with the service in September. Soccer, Tennis, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Balloon Fight, Ice Climbers, Dr. Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 3 are the ten announced titles. New games will be added regularly.

Nintendo seems to be heading in the right direction with their online plan. They seem to be listening to what the consumer wants when it comes to cloud saves and classic games. One feature still missing is voice chat. The only way to use voice chat will be through the Switch app used on smartphones. Here’s to hoping they can come up with a better solution down the road.

What are your thoughts on the new online plan? Let me know in the comments below.
