Payday 2 Switch Preview
Payday 2 shoots its way onto Nintendo’s hybrid system on February 28th and we are already seeing mixed reviews. I will be doing a full review later this week, but I’d like give you a quick preview of the pros and cons of Payday 2.
The Cons
- This 4 year old game does show its age graphically and on the Switch especially. The frame rate has hard time staying at 30 fps when you have a lot of enemies on screen and texture definitely take a hit as well.
- The Switch version is missing some of the content that is on the PC already, the PC has 58 missions and the Switch has 50.
- The lack of voice chat for a game that is all about cooperation and team work is a problem. According to this Kotaku article its Nintendo that’s dragging their feet to get Payday 2 approved for the app. The N64Josh Discord is an option for communicating during hiests.
The Pros
- Multiple game modes including one that is all about doing as much damage as possible. Lets blow some stuff up!!
- Most reviewers are saying that where Payday 2 lacks in graphics it makes up for in gameplay. The gun play looks to be on point.
- Getting 3 friends together to pull of heists looks like blast!
- Timed exclusive character: Joy.
- Lots of customizable options including playing as John Wick.
