Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu Trailer Breakdown

Let’s Go Pikachu

Let’s break down the trailer of Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu.

The trailer starts off with kid playing Pokémon Go, and follows Pikachu to his house.

After Pikachu jumps into the television you see the kid grab a single Joycon. Movement takes place with the analog stick and a throwing motion can be used to throw Pokéballs and catch Pokémon, similar to Pokémon Go.

Next up we see two girls, each grabs a Joycon and they begin playing co-op on the same Switch.

Trainer battles are next on the list and I am not quite sure how this is going to play out. The trailer shows four Pokémon battling it out on screen. This looks to me like a co-op trainer battle, but we will have to wait and see until we get more info.

A new peripheral is being sold alongside this game and that’s a Pokéball controller. It’s very similar to controlling the game with a Joycon but you can store a Pokémon inside and take it on the go. If you shake it you can hear the Pokémon inside. In Pokémon Go you can set a buddy Pokémon that levels up with as you walk and after a certain distance gives you candy. (Candy can help with upgrades and evolving your Pokémon) The ball make work the same allowing you to level up a buddy Pokémon while you’re out walking.

Transfer Pokémon between Pokémon Go and Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu.

Play this game how you want. If you’re into motion controls grab a Joycon or the new Pokéball accessory. If you want to play handheld or with a controller without using motion that option is also available.

Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu will give you the option to customize your Pokémon in different costumes. How they are acquired is unknown at this point, but there seems to be plenty of options.

The game releases November 16, 2018 and also teased a special Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Did you see anything in the trailer that I missed? Let me know in the comments below.
