Nintendo’s arcade history
During E3 Nintendo surprised everyone by releasing a Donkey Kong on the Nintendo Switch. Following that announcement the announced another Arcade Archives game, Sky Skipper. The history of the game is probably more interesting than the game itself because it wasn’t very well received when it launched in the early 80’s. There are very few of the cabinets left in existence and the ROM for this game had to be pulled from the arcade cabinet at Nintendo headquarters in Redmon WA.
Famitsu has confirmed that Sky Skipper will be launching this Friday in Japan, so we should see it North America and Europe. All the past Hamster titles have had simultaneous releases so I wouldn’t expect anything different for Sky Skipper.
