At last years E3 the next Yoshi game was announced and shown off at length, but at this year’s event is a no-show. Kotaku met up with Bill Trinen Nintendo’s director of product marketing and he confirmed that Yoshi would not be at E3 this year, but more details will be available at a later date.
The game was originally planned for 2018 and during last year’s Treehouse event seemed very polished. My guess is the delay is due to increased third-party support for the Switch and not as much about the game needed more time. First party titles tend to cast a large shadow, so spacing them out between third-party releases allows those titles of better shot of being purchased by consumers.
What do you think did Yoshi need more time or this Nintendo allowing others to shine on their latest platform?
