Inside, is not for the faint of heart
Inside was my first experience with anything from Playdead the studio behind Limbo, which is also out now on the Nintendo Switch. You start the game in the woods as a small boy who has apparently escaped from somewhere or trying to avoid being caught. There’s no dialog or cutscene just you in the woods. The game does zero handholding it drops you into the creepy world that has no problem brutally killing you for not figuring out to avoid light or outrunning attack dogs. Not once during the experience did I feel cheated or that a puzzle was too difficult. You are forced to think outside the box and at times it felt like I was playing one long Zelda dungeon. Be warned this game only gets stranger the longer you play it, but in a good way.
Pros
- Gorgeous visuals and lighting effects that keep you immersed in every area.
- Great level design with excellent puzzles.
- Controls are spot on.
- Amazing storytelling without any dialog.
- The perfect mix of strange and intriguing to keep you engaged until the end
Cons
- The game could have been longer.
Most of you that know me also know that I don’t finish many games, but I couldn’t stop playing Inside. This game grabbed me right from the start and had me till the end. Although I wished the game was longer I still recommend checking it out just be prepared for a wild ride. If you have never played this game before and you are a fan of puzzle platformers then this is a must own 9/10 power gloves.
If you have played Inside or have any questions about the game let me know in the comments.
Shoutout to my boy SuperNintendad for purchasing this game for me!
