Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Good

Pokémon Sword and Shield vs. the internet

Pokémon Sword and Shield is the latest target of the internet lynch mob. I’ve seen so much toxicity around this game that I’m left wondering if some gamers know there’s more to life than games. The hashtags have gone from wanting the national Pokédex back to bullying the devs. Keyboard warriors with all the answers to why the game should be better and why it needs to be delayed. The leaked versions are being played before the day one patch that will inevitably be released. Pokémon Sword and Shield are currently at the top of charts on Amazon in multiple countries so that this vocal may be loud, but they are nothing more than a minority. They will cry and then purchase the game. The war against Pokémon Sword and Shield brings plenty of upvotes and ReTweets, so fight on valiant internet soldiers.

What are you looking forward to in Pokémon Sword and Shield?

When I see the world that has been shown off, I can’t wait to explore it. I’m excited to capture, train, and battle these new Pokémon. Playing Pokémon with my community on stream has been so enjoyable as I learn the ins and outs of battle. I’m like a Pokémon padawan, and my chat is full of Pokémon Yoda’s. I do not doubt that the game won’t be perfect, and I also do not doubt that I will have a great time with the game. I don’t feel the pain of long-time fans, but I also question the life choices of someone that gets so angry over a video game. (You can leave your angry comment below, but I won’t approve it.) What are you looking forward to seeing in Pokémon Sword and Shield? Let me know in the comments below, and we will read them on Tuesday’s NPC. Listen to latest episode here

  1. I’m glad the nationaldex is gone. This will give you a reason to try some new pokèmon’s. I know that this game will be perfect! #thankyou Gamefreak

  2. I can not wait to play Sword & Shield. I’ve stayed away from all leaks and most of the official information that has been releasedbe jade I wanna go into these games cold. To be able to experience for the first time really takes me back to getting red and blue as a kid. I’ve always wanted a console Pokémon game and they delivered. Looking forward to battling everyone in the community! Oh one more thing…Colt and poudigne…I’m coming for ya!

    • While I’m sad some of my favourites are gone I am excited to get to play with Pokemon I’ve never really tried out before. Galavantula, I’m lookin at you.
I’m really looking forward to the new world to explore.

I’m really disappointed in the community for attacking the devs and Serebii. I thought the community was better than this. I hope it gets better in the future.

in the meantime, I’ll be taking my new bird pals and having a blast. Really looking forward to making more art. I’m where I am professionally because pokemon got be drawing so aim glad it’s still going and I hope it continues to grow and improve.

  3. Looking forward to playing the first main line Pokemon game on console. Raids & battles with the community are going to be great. Stadium battles are what i’ve wanted for a while in terms of scope and size. Add to that the dynamaxing & gigantamaxing and you have some epic battles! The Galar Region & the wild area look like a blast to explore. It’s closest we’ve been to an open world Pokemon game. Albeit limited to the wild area. But it’s the direction a lot of fans have wanted to series to go down for a while.

In regards to the controversy as a long time Pokemon fan, the “lynch mob” is really disgusting. It’s fine to have your criticisms of the game, but to harass and bully developers is really disgusting and completely unwarranted. If you really want things changed as a so called “fan”, this is not how you go about doing it.

All that being said #TeamScorbunny #SwordDoggo

  4. Imagine being this toxic that you can’t even understand why consumers want a better product from a AAA developer. Not everyone buys games blindly based on their title alone. People like you are ruining gaming.

    • It’s simple: don’t buy it. I’m enjoying game and have no regrets. Maybe it’s time for a new hobby boss?
