Splatoon 2 Guide: Splatzones

Splatzones-similar to turf war but you need to play more aggressively. So a combination of good turf covering and aggressive weapons work great.

  • Weapon-Nzap ‘85
    • Very popular in rank due to great mobility, fire rate, and accuracy. Can cover the zone really well on its own and can get it’s special pretty quickly. (it got nerfed pretty bad though at 210p for special because of this). Has suction bombs and ink armor.
  • Abilities
    • A combination of Run Speed, Swim Speed, and Ink Resistance help with mobility and staying alive. Special Charge up is now necessary due to the 210p nerf. Comeback is really good too considering N-Zap’s get splatted a lot.
  • Tactics
    • Very aggressive turf cover due to the ink armor since it allows you and your team to defend or push towards to zone with some defense. Try to stay alive as much as possible in order to keep getting those specials. The Comeback ability would work here to get your special quicker after getting splatted. A lot of weapons outrange the Nzap so use its speed to close the gap.
  • Weapon-Splattershot Pro
    • It may not be the best in covering turf but It’s really good at defending the zone with its long range, accuracy, and fast kill time. Ink storm helps with turf covering though. (my personal splat zone weapon)
  • Abilities
    • Due to high ink consumption, a combination of ink saving abilities works well i.e ink saver (main or sub) and ink recovery. Special charge up for that ink storm (only takes 170p regardless). Sub Power Up for the point sensor to keep track of enemies for a longer time.
  • Tactics
    • Use point sensor as often as possible. Tracking your opponent can be important in splat zones so you know where the enemy is at all times and can properly defend the zone. Helps teammates too. Ink storm helps to keep the enemy out of the zone or push them back. Keep the enemy at bay with the range of the weapon.
