While the Fortnite devs were on Treehouse live they mentioned that voice chat will be available by plugging a headset into the Switch’s headphone jack. They said that Thursday will be the day that the feature goes live. A team based game like Fortnite need voice chat and the dev’s said that they wanted people to be able to chat with their friends even on other consoles. Most assumed that this wasn’t an option for the Switch because Nintendo continues to support the app for voice chat and even Astro has headsets coming out for the Switch that connects to your phone and the console.
