Explore the open-world region of Paldea
The new Pokemon region of Paldea is inspired by Mediterranean Spain. Pokemon company is saying that this new game and region will be more open world than any other Pokemon game before, even Legends Arceus.
Get a Special Pikachu when you Pre-Order Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
This special Pikachu has two unique characteristics:
- It knows the move Fly, which it normally cannot learn.
- Its Tera Type is Flying.
You can receive it by choosing Get via Internet from the Mystery Gift feature in your game, up until Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Pokemon Scarlett and Violet will have “True Multiplayer”
Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokémon, you will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with other players. You can discover new Pokémon and explore unfamiliar areas with your friends and family, opening the door to an adventure more precious and fun than ever!
New Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The three starter Pokemon have been revealed: Sprigatito (Grass), Fuecoco (Fire), and Quaxly (Water).
There have also been a number of other new and returning Pokemon revealed. Here are the new Pokemon on Scarlet and Violet:
Two Pokemon Professors this time around
Players will get to team up with a different Pokemon Professor, depending on the version of the game they choose. This is the first time that this has been done in a Pokemon game, but we have seen other version exclusives in previous games like: gym leaders, bad guy teams, and even Pokemon. Will this affect your choice of which game to play?
New & Returning Features in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Pokemon can follow you in the open world.
The new feature “Let’s Go”, similarly named to the game Pokemon Let’s Go, but unrelated, allows you to tell your Pokemon to explore in a direction you are facing. They will will explore, find items and even auto-battle for XP.

Traditional Gym Leaders, Pokemon League, and Victory Road all make a return.
Battle stadium returns:
– Battle with people anywhere in the world
– Ranked and casual battles
– Rental teams returns
Picnic with your Pokemon. Make sandwiches and take photos.
New items:
Mirror herb: copy opponents stat boost once
Covert cloak: protects from additional effects of moves (like paralyze or burn)
Loaded dice: moves that have multiple hits have higher chance of hitting more times

New Outdoor Pokemon Centers
Rotom returns in the form of a PHONE to give you tips and advice.
Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet:
There are at least two new legendary Pokemon revealed as the cover art for Scarlet and Violet: Koraidon (scarlet) or Miraidon (violet)
Players will be able to ride these legendaries as they explore the vast open-world of Paldea.
New Tera Raid Battles
Team up with three other Trainers in order to take on a Terastallized wild Pokémon. Attempt a Tera Raid Battle by touching shining crystals. This battle system has a time limit and allows you to continue attacking seamlessly without having to wait for other Trainers to choose their actions.
Cheer instead of using a Pokemon move to choose one of 3 options – boost Attack and Sp. Atk, boost Defense and Sp. Def, or heal a Pokemon.
Use a link code to find specific friends, or don’t and just search for random people. Players can capture these special Pokemon after defeating them.
The new gimmick is called Terastallize
Llike gigantamax or mega-evolvutions, Terastallize Pokemon is the new gimmick in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon can have different Tera Types, which allow them to temporarily add an additional typing to themselves.
Use a special “Tera Orb” once per battle. It must be recharged at Pokemon Centers in between uses. It can add one of the 18 types to your active Pokemon:
