Super Mario Party debuts on the Nintendo Switch October 5, 2018. Based on the trailer this game looks to improve on the latest iterations in the series. The classic board game style of gameplay has been absent in the last few games being replaced by much smaller and more frantic boards to everyone playing riding in a single car around the board. Super Mario Party looks like its bringing back the classic board game style and adding a handful of new features that can be used by combining multiple Switch consoles.
With the Switches lying flat on the table they combine to make a single battle arena of whatever environment the mini requires. Playing them flat on the table wasn’t the only new way to play. The trailer also featured two teams of two facing off in baseball mini-game while the two Switches were in tabletop mode.
Hopefully Super Mario Party will include online multiplayer this time around and I know that would be a welcomed feature by many because Mario Party is best enjoyed with others.
