My Nintendo App Launches in Japan

Mobile App Includes News, Software Purchase, Video Viewing & Live Event Check-In Features.

A My Nintendo app was released by Nintendo in Japan earlier today, for both Android and iOS platforms, as reported by Japanese Nintendo.

Features include:

  • Search and buy Nintendo Switch software.
  • View linked Nintendo Account/Nintendo Network ID play records for Switch, Wii U & 3DS.
  • Access Nintendo news.
  • Watch Nintendo Directs and other video content.
  • QR code check-ins for live events and at the Nintendo Tokyo store.

The Android version comes in at a 6.8MB download while the iOS version requires 30.3MB. No word yet on the app making its way to the west- and, it should be noted, that My Nintendo has often had much more elaborate features & offers in Japan compared to its American and European counterparts. So, even if a version of the app does make its way overseas, fans might not want to expect all of these features to survive the journey (though, it isn’t beyond possibility, so, fingers crossed?).
