Nintendo Quarter One 2018 Sales Numbers

The 3DS is seeing a significant decrease in sales from the prior year. With almost 3 million software units sold Q1 Nintendo is showing no signs of slowing down the 3DS/2DS brand.

Quarter 1 Switch software sales have been very impressive, but the hardware seems to be slowing a bit. I believe Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee can move hardware, but can they move enough to reach the 20 million units forecasted? Will we see a big Q4 surprise announcement to move more hardware? One way Nintendo can move more Switch units would be with limited edition models. WiiU you ports are paying off with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze selling 1.40 million units and I am fairly certain we will see one more WiiU port this holiday.

What are your thoughts on the sales numbers are you surprised by them? Let me know in the comments below.
