Japan likes shooters?
According to Dengeki Online Japan really likes Splatoon 2! As of July 2018, Splatoon 2 has an attach rate of 53.5%. One in two Japanese Switch owners has a copy of Splatoon 2. The current estimated sales of Splatoon 2 in Japan are 2,509,380 making the most popular title on the Switch. The attach rate for Splatoon 2 has only dropped around 2% since it launched last year.
It’s known that shooters have never been as popular in Japan, so why does Splatoon 2 have such great appeal? I’d love to hear your thought in the comments below.
