Snk 40th Anniversary Collection

The trailer for Crystalis was recently released on Nintendo Youtube channel as part of the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

Here’s the description from the Youtube page:

Returning to consoles for the first time in over two decades, the SNK fan favorite Crystalis (known as God Slayer: Haruka Tenkū no Sonata in Japan) is here in all of its early top-down, action-RPG glory. In a post-apocalyptic world where magic has returned, you must stop the evil Draygonian empire as they seek to control the Tower, a device capable of conquering the planet!

The arcade comes home in this amazing collections from the earliest titles in SNK’s illustrious catalog. Celebrating 40 years of titles that changed the landscape of arcade and console libraries across the world, available for the first time in one collection!

Pixel-perfect and chocked full of special features like saving anywhere and rewind, all with an enormous gallery of rare and detailed production notes and materials. Take the arcade with you wherever you go with the definitive early SNK arcade collection!

With Virtual Console becoming a thing of the past it’s nice to see that companies are bringing their classic games to the Switch. One of the things I love most about this collection is the included arcade versions as well as the home versions.

The list of games so far

  • Alpha Mission

  • Crystalis

That is the list so far with more games to be announced. Will the SNK 4oth Anniversary be a pick for you? let me know in the comments.
